Q1: What are the minimum hardware specs to run PeakAccess?

The following contains the recommended minimum requirements for your system.

  • Hardware - Minimum of a Pentium II processor with a speed of at least 400 megahertz (MHz), and 128 megabytes (MB) of SDRAM.
  • Modem - It is recommended that you use a high capacity line such as cable modem, DSL, or T1. However the platform is designed to function effectively on modems as low as 28.8kps modem.
  • Hard Drive - Available hard disk space should be no less than 1MB. We recommend at least a 4MB Video Card and a full size monitor- at least 17".
  • Operating System - For optimal performance, we recommend Windows 2000 or Windows XP. We will also support the following Windows platforms beginning with Windows NT, Windows Professional,

Q2: What quality of trade executions can PeakAccess clients expect?

In an effort to provide optimal order transmissions, Pinnacle maintains direct connections through PeakAccess to the NASDAQ stock market, all ECNs, NYSE, AMEX, OTCBB, Regional Exchanges as well as all options exchanges.

Q3: During what hours can trades be executed?

Trading access is available from 7:30am to 8:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

At 4:00pm EST all day orders expire and extended hours begin.

The Pinnacle trade desk operates between 8:00am to 6:00pm EST - Monday through Friday.

Q4: How does PeakAccess software work over the Internet and is it secure?

When you run PeakAccess on your computer it communicates with our servers using Triple DES (DATA Encryption Standard) Encryption through the Internet. This encryption level is currently the highest level of encryption available to US corporations on a commercial basis. Our servers recognize your login and password and connect you to your live trading account and all ECNs and exchanges. As a result all data and trades sent between your computer and our servers is fast and secure.

Q5: Is the Internet fast and reliable real-time quotes?

Our tests indicate that even with a 28.8 modem you'll receive tic-by-tic data over the Internet. The only area in which Internet service may not be quite as fast as our non-Internet service is when you request a new chart. The speed at which the full page loads depends on the speed of your modem. Once loaded, however, they update incomparably fast.

Q6: What kind of browser or plug-ins do I need?

You don't really need any browser to use PeakAccess, because you're not browsing the World Wide Web. You're simply connecting through the Internet to a data server

Q7: Can I place orders if my Internet connection or computer is down?

Yes, contact our desk and we can access your account and place trades - even when your are not able too.

Q8: Can I Bulletin Board or Pink Sheet stocks?

We provide you two electronic route to trade OTCBB stocks. Since Pink Sheet stocks do not have electronic access these stocks must be executed by phone.
